Risk of Atrial Fibrillation Across Age-Predicted Maximum Heart Rate Each hazard ratio was computed with the median value for age-predicted maximum heart rate achieved of 91% as the reference; each was adjusted for age, sex, race, heart rate, smoking, hypertension, diabetes, obesity, hyperlipidemia, coronary heart disease, heart failure, antihypertensive medication use, lipid-lowering medication use, aspirin, and metabolic equivalent of task achieved.
