1 Fox Year 3 Summer 1 I know the multiplication and division facts for the 3 and 5 times tables. 3 × 1 = 3 3 × 2 = 6 3 × 3 = 9 3 × 4 = 12 3 × 5 = 15 3 × 6 = 18 3 × 7 = 21 3 × 8 = 24 3 × 9 = 27 3 × 10 = 30 3 × 11 = 33 3 × 12 = 36 3 ÷ 3 = 1 6 ÷ 3 = 2 21 ÷ 3 = 7 30 ÷ 3 = 10 33 ÷ 3 = 11 27 ÷ 3 = 9 36 ÷ 3 = 12 9 ÷ 3 = 3 12 ÷ 3 = 4 15 ÷ 3 = 5 24 ÷ 3 = 8 18 ÷ 3 = 6 5 × 1 = 5 5 × 2 = 10 5 × 3 = 15 5 × 4 = 20 5 × 5 = 25 5 × 6 = 30 5 × 7 = 35 5 × 8 = 40 5 × 9 = 45 5× 10 = 50 5 × 11 = 55 5 × 12 = 60 5 ÷ 5 = 1 10 ÷ 5 = 2 15 ÷ 5 = 3 20 ÷ 5 = 4 25 ÷ 5 = 5 30 ÷ 5 = 6 35 ÷ 5 = 7 40 ÷ 5 = 8 45 ÷ 5 = 9 50 ÷ 5 = 10 55 ÷ 5 = 11 60 ÷ 5 = 12 Top Tips The secret to success is practising little and often. You could practise these KIRFs while walking to school or during a car journey. Key Vocabulary Multiplication: lots of, groups of, times, multiplication, multiply, multiplied by, multiple of, product, once, twice, three times, four times, five times... ten times, n times as (big, long, wide, and so on), repeated addition, array, row, column, double, Division: halve, share, share equally, one each, two each, three each..., group in pairs, threes... tens, equal groups of, divide, division, divided by, divided, into, divisible by, remainder, factor, quotient, inverse. Look for patterns – These times tables are full of patterns for your child to find. How many can they spot? Use your ten times table – Multiply a number by 10 and subtract the original number (e.g. 7 × 10 – 7 = 70 – 7 = 63). What do you notice? What happens if you add your original number instead? (e.g. 7 × = = 77) What do you already know? – Your child will already know many of these facts from the 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10 times tables. It might be worth practising these again! 2 Fox Year Summer 1 I know the multiplication and division facts for the 7 and 8 times tables. 7 × 1 = 7 7 × 2 = 14 7 × 3 = 21 7 × 4 = 28 7 × 5 = 25 7 × 6 = 42 7 × 7 = 49 7 × 8 = 56 7 × 9 = 63 7 × 10 = 70 7 × 11 = 77 7 × 12 = 84 8 ÷ 8 = 1 16 ÷ 8 = 2 24÷ 8 = 3 32 ÷ 8 = 4 40 ÷ 8 = 5 48 ÷ 8 = 6 56 ÷ 8 = 7 64 ÷ 8 = 8 72 ÷ 8 = 9 80 ÷ 8 = 10 88 ÷ 8 = 11 96 ÷ 8 = 12 8 × 1 = 8 8 × 2 = 16 8 × 3 = 24 8 × 4 = 32 8 × 5 = 40 8 × 6 = 48 8 × 7 = 56 8 × 8 = 64 8 × 9 = 72 8 × 10 = 80 8 × 11 = 88 8 × 12 = 96 7 ÷ 7 = 1 14 ÷ 7 = 2 21 ÷ 7 = 3 28 ÷ 7 = 4 35 ÷ 7 = 5 42 ÷ 7 = 6 49 ÷ 7 = 7 56 ÷ 7 = 8 63 ÷ 7 = 9 70 ÷ 7 = 10 77 ÷ 7 = 11 84 ÷ 7 = 12 They should be able to answer these questions in any order, including missing number questions e.g. 8 × ⃝ = or ⃝ ÷ 7 = 11.
