Figure 1 EBV detection in sample series. Detection of EBV is shown in mononuclear cells of peripheral blood, bone marrow, and lymphoma tissue at the diagnosis of PTLD by using EBV-specific polymerase chain reaction. No EBV was detected in the mononuclear cells of cord blood from 2 donors or the peripheral blood or marrow cells from the patient before transplantation. EBV was identified in all samples only after transplantation. The Daudi cell line was used as the positive control. CBA, CBB, and NP indicate cord blood A, cord blood B, and nasopharynx tissue, respectively. Pre-PB/BM and Post-PB/BM indicate samples from peripheral blood and bone marrow before and after UCBT, respectively.
