14. National Policy Framework for Alternative Fuels Infrastructure for Transport in Ireland (NPF)
Ireland’s National Policy Framework for Alternative Fuels Infrastructure for Transport in Ireland, was published in May 2017 under Directive 2014/94/EU.
Sets Ireland’s long-term decarbonisation vision for the sector (by reducing our reliance on fossil fuels in transport).
Supports diversification of the fuel mix (by increasing indigenous renewable electricity and biogas production).
Sets common technical standards to ensure interoperability across EU-28.
Reassures car manufacturers and investors of Ireland’s long term commitment to alternative fuels.

15. National Policy Framework for Alternative Fuels Infrastructure for Transport in Ireland (NPF)
NPF supports the development of refuelling and recharging infrastructure to ensure that no barriers remain to market uptake of low emission vehicles in Ireland.
Sets out our ambition that from 2030 all new cars and vans sold in Ireland will be zero-emission (or zero emission-capable).
