Polynesian Migration (Austronesian)
The Polynesian Migration took place starting in BCE starting from Taiwan This migration took nearly 4,000 years to complete, settling the Pacific Islands, Indonesia, Malaysia, Madagascar (500 CE), and New Zealand (1200 CE) With their migration, these Polynesians took their domesticated animals, agriculture and language with them They even introduced bananas and coconuts to Africa

Religion Spreading Neoconfucianism reintroduced and enforced in Song China, and SPREAD to profoundly influence the rest of East Asia (Korea and Japan) Islam spread wildly due to conquest (caliphates and sultanates) and trade (Muslim Diaspora and Arab merchants to West Africa) Hinduism spread to the Khmer and Champa Empires, and Buddhism to Japan (Taika Reforms) Christianity and the Christian kingdoms shrank, including Axum, North Africa, the Middle East, and Spain due to Islam and the Mongols, but did add the Vikings (1100)

Religion & Women During the Post-Classical Era, Buddhism continued to spread due to its egalitarian appeal (nirvana), but had little lasting impact in China after the Tang Dynasty In the West, Christianity offered new opportunities for women to escape childrearing and become literate as nuns in convents Neoconfucianism kept China strongly patriarchal (foot binding), as did Islam in the Middle East and North Africa (but not West) Some Muslim territories, however, began to give divorce initiation rights to women (Khula – consensual divorce)
