2 What is the essential question of this case
The essential question of the bakke v board of regents of California is, did the University of California violate the 14th amendment, and civil rights act of not accepting bakke even though he was qualified for the medical school?

3 Using the evidence you found during your reading summarize the background of this case in three complete sentences A 35 year old man named allan bakke had applied admission at the university of California and the University kept denying bakke to attend and go to the school so bakke took it to court. But the university had the right to hold the empty spots for minority students. Bakke had all the qualified things required to attend the school but he kept getting rejected from the school. Evidence: the first time he attended the school he got a 468 out of 500 on a test that should get him into the school, the second time he scored a 549 out of 600 and still got rejected so he took it to the court.

What are the constitutional principles related to the case? List the principles and summarize the meaning below The 14th amendment- equal protection to all citizens, the amendment also states "due process", which prevents citizens from being illegally removed of life, liberty, or property. Civil rights act of 1764-discrimination based on race, color, religion, or gender. It also stops discrimination due on race for employment, or school.

How did the court answer the essential question? What was the reason for their decision The first decision the supreme court made for this case was to accept Bakke into the medical school. The 2nd decision was to stop some minorities from going in.

The supreme court made an immediate action to stop some minorities but also not stop some minorities. It also had
