Consider: This is NOT an epistle like Ephesians, but a narrative like Ruth. It is a description NOT a prescription. This is NOT about discovering God’s Will Like …,where or when should I go but did you really say that and did you really mean that. This is NOT a demonstration of faith but of fear. This is NOT about Gideon but about God Gideon made it about himself. God wanted it to be about Himself. This is NOT an isolated issue in Gideon’s life Judges 6:13- He knew about the signs in Egypt and the desert. He had seen the Angel of the Lord vs He try two angles in the dew and the fleece He would witness a convincing dream in the Midian camp. He would take his eyes of the Lord in a “golden calf” experience later.
