Brunswick Sports Medicine Program
Brunswick HS contracts with the Cleveland Clinic for Sports Medicine and Athletic Training services. What we provide: Two Athletic Trainers at the school Team Physician at football games and appointment availability throughout the week On site Physical Therapist 2x/week What we do: Treat injured athletes in the training room (on site) Acute Management and Rehabilitation Assist with referrals when needed Intermediary between coaches and athletes regarding injuries Manage (in conjunction with physicians) Concussions Concussionsl July 27, l 4

Availability: Training Room Hours: Daily 2pm – 6pm
Training Rooms are located in the stadium (fall/ spring) and in the weight room (winter) We are available for: Injury evaluation, injury management and rehabilitation We are available to assist with facilitation of sports medicine (including concussion management) appointments at any Cleveland Clinic Facility. Concussion Management
Mandatory baseline testing utilizing the ImPact concussion management system All concussions should be reported to the training staff Electronic injury tracking Systematic management and gradual return to play after physician clearance Work with school administration to provide academic accommodations, if required. Items Required for Participation:
Physical Form Signed Forms on Final Forms Online forms system Pay-to-Participate fee $ per sport w/ a family cap of $360.00 Must be paid by the first regular season contest All other forms required by your activity

Academic Requirements
Students must have 5 passing classes (PE does not count!) 2.0 GPA for sophomores, juniors, seniors 1.8 GPA freshman Students must be in school for half a day in order to participate in practice/game (10:46 am)

Physical Education Exemption
The Board of Education permits students to be excused from the BHS P.E. requirement if, during grades 9-12, the student has successfully participated in 2 full seasons of inter-scholastic athletics, marching band and/or cheerleading. ...continue

P.E. Exemption Continued...
For the purpose of exemption, the following sports/activities will be accepted: 1) All students in officially sanctioned Brunswick City Schools interscholastic sports 2) All students enrolled in Marching Band/Color Guard 3) All students in officially sanctioned Brunswick Cheerleading & Dance teams 4) All officially sanctioned OHSAA sports in which a student competes at another school as a representative of Brunswick in a sport not offered at Brunswick 5) Any combination of above which results in two full seasons of participation Students are exempt from physical education with 2 full successful seasons. Please remember that no credit will be issued…only an exemption Transfer students must include verification of successfully participating from their former district to receive exemption. It is the student’s responsibility to get it approved by the previous Athletic Director 6) The P.E. Exemption Form must be completed by the end of the student’s junior year

Pictures Pictures taken at any school event cannot be sold as we have a contract with Lifetouch Photographic Fall Sports Picture Day - Thursday, August 11th Lifetouch will no longer be taking pictures at Senior Night. Parents will be permitted to take their own pictures
