2. Introduction: Introduction: - The Montesquieu library, established in 1994, is a law library situated at the institute of law IOL. It is one of six branches libraries at Birzeit University. - Montesquieu library offers its services to the staff of the institute, students of the faculty of law (nearly seven hundred) and the entire university community, in addition to law professionals and law institutions in Palestine and the world.

3. Mission: Mission: - Montesquieu Library aims to create and sustain an information environment that enables learning and the advancement of knowledge in the field of law.

4. Our collections and services: Our collections and services: - Montesquieu Library has a collection of 16,000 volumes and 30 legal periodicals, national and international as well as some electronic journals. - Montesquieu Library has online databases such as Al-Muqtafi, West Law and East Law.

5. - Al-Muqtafi database, the only database containing the full legislation applicable in Palestine, since the Ottoman period.This unique database has been designed and developed by the Institute of Law. - Free access to this database is available through the library. - Microfilm resources and CD-ROM resources.

6. - Electronic equipment, including computers workstations all fully networked and internet-accessible; photocopier; scanner; and printers - Montesquieu Library has a Collection Of Rare Books which is dating back to the pre-1948 period as a primary resource for information. The Collection includes: * Palestinian Official Gazette/British Mandate Regulations. * Palestinian Official Gazette/British Mandate Regulations. *The Ottoman legislation. *The Ottoman legislation.
