30 minutes Working Groups: Grand Challenges Part 1 Focus Question: What are the things/important issues to consider as we address this task of identifying grand challenges for our theme? Part 1: (10-15 minutes): Go around table in order, each person has 1 min (max) to respond to the focus question by sharing 1 thought/idea. You can say “pass” at any point and re- enter once your turn comes again. No discussion, not even questions for clarification. The purpose is to give everyone a chance to put your ideas out there. Keep going around table until everyone has “passed” or min has passed whichever comes first. ID a moderator and a scribe. Use SERC workspace. Part 2: (15-20 min): Working group discussion of ideas raised.
