“Strategy teaching is a five-step process. First, introduce the strategy to your students and label it as a new learning strategy. Next, identify it with a name and explain how it is used. Then, demonstrate how to use it by applying it directly to specific content. Next, give students the time and opportunity to practice using it with that content. Finally, discuss with your students how effective they found this strategy to be for them and ask them for which other types of tasks this new strategy might be good (Serdyukov and Hill , 2009, p. 182).
