Virginia’s statewide program for recruiting high school students into the teaching profession.

2. What is Teacher Cadet?
A college class for high school seniors interested in becoming teachers.
Students are dual enrolled at Shenandoah University and receive 4 college credits.
Students also receive a .5 GPA boost.

3. Hands on Learning First Semester Project based instruction
8 Observations
Second Semester
40 hour Field Experience (February to May)
Building a portfolio

4. Student Requirements High School Senior
Have and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA
Submit three satisfactory teacher recommendations
Submit a brief essay and application.
