2. FACULTY OF AERONAUTICS AND ASTRONAUTICS
Our faculty, which carries out education and training activities at Anadolu University since its establishment, was passed to Eskişehir Technical University by Law No published in the Official Gazette dated May 18, 2018.

3. DEPARTMENT OF AIRFRAME AND POWERPLANT MAINTENANCE
Eskişehir Technical University, Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Department of Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance trains enrolled students to serve as maintenance technicians on airplanes used in commercial air transport.

4. ADMISSION CONDITIONS TO DEPARTMENT
Students are admitted to Department of Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance with the Examination of Higher Education Institutions (YKS).
Students entering the department must meet special requirements 41, 46 and 49 of the 2018 YKS HIGHER EDUCATION PROGRAMS AND CONTENTS GUIDELINES.

5. ADMISSION CONDITIONS TO DEPARTMENT
(41.) In this program, some practical lessons and internships are made at the premises of private and official aviation organizations, so the students who won this program will be investigated for safety. Students who have a negative security investigation or fail to comply with the order and discipline of these organizations cannot continue this program.
(46.) For students who want is applied a one-year English Language Preparatory Program within the quota. The duration of the preparatory program is not included in the years shown in the teaching time column.

6. ADMISSION CONDITIONS TO DEPARTMENT
(49.) AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL / AVIATION ELECTRICITY AND ELECTRONICS / AIRCRAFT ELECTRICAL-ELECTRONIC / AIRCRAFT ENGINE / AIRFRAME AND POWERPLANT MAINTENANCE (license) and AIRCRAFT TECHNOLOGY (associate degree) training:
1) No Register of Criminal Records or Judicial Register Records to prevent the receipt of the airport entrance card.
2) Receiving the report of the delegation (color blindness, hearing loss / deficiency, vision loss / lack etc.) provided that it has been taken within a period of 6 months from a full-fledged hospital that there are no health problems which may prevent the profession and / or profession to perform its duties.

7. EDUCATION METHOD
In education, lasting for 4 years (8 semesters), theoretical and practical training is carried out together.
For the practical training of the students, they are obliged to do an internship for 60 days in airline companies.
For student education, our department cooperates with TUSAŞ Engine Industry, which is established in Eskişehir and one of the leading companies in aviation. Within the scope of the cooperation, Department of Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance students receive practical and theoretical training in two full days of the week at TAI facilities.

8. THE IMPORTANCE OF ENGLISH IN AVIATION
Although the education in our school is Turkish, the language used in aviation is English.
In the aviation industry, all documents used by maintenance technicians are published in English by aircraft manufacturers.
Some of the maintenance documents used in aviation are;
AMM (Aircraft Maintenance Manuel)
FIM (Fault Isolation Manuel)
SSM (System Schematic Manuel)
SRM (Structure Repair Manuel)

9. THE IMPORTANCE OF ENGLISH IN AVIATION
In aviation industry, maintenance personnel
when communicating with the cockpit and cabin crew,
when registering maintenance,
in order to read and understand the maintenance manuals
must know English.

Apart from laboratories and workshops, students receive practical training in the hangar belong to our faculty.

Donated by Fedex to our faculty for educational purposes, the Boeing 727 aircraft, is another area of practical training for students.

16. WORK OPPORTUNITIES AFTER GRADUATION
Graduates from department of Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance:
in Turkish Airlines,
in the maintenance departments of Private Airlines and Air Taxi Enterprises, (OnurAir, Pegasus, etc.)
in Aircraft Maintenance Centers (myTECHNIC, THY Teknik, etc.)
in Air Supply Center,
can work as maintenance technician.

17. PRIDE FOR US
Anatolia Aero Design team participated in the Sae Aero Design East 2017 competition with our UAVs named Jaeger, has been the first in the overall ranking, third in best and maximum load carrying ratio and returned to Turkey with 3 medals.

18. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED IN AVIATION INDUSTRY
Students who will graduate from this department, should have following properties for maintenance in aviation;
high responsibility,
prone to teamwork,
advanced problem solving ability,
having the ability to think in three dimensions,
high level of English
