1 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
Habit 4: Think Win-Win 7 Habits of Highly Effective People Week 11: October 23rd and 25th

2 Think Win-Win We are all equal
No one is better than or worse than anyone else We can all be winners

3 Yeah Right! Everyone can’t always win! What about sports?
What about business? What about school? Those are just institutions we have created.

4 Relationships Who is winning in your relationship? You or your friend?
In relationships it is not a contest, and life is really about relationships…

5 Win-Lose (The Totem Pole)
The pie is only so big - there’s not enough to go around. There is always a loser, and its not going to be me! I’m better than you! Competitive

6 Win-Lose Using Others for Selfish Purposes
Getting ahead at the expense of another. Spreading Rumors/Putting Others Down Insists on getting their way, no matter what. Being jealous when something good happens for someone else.

7 Lose-Win (The Doormat)
“Walk all over me” Give in to make others happy. Sets low expectations. Compromises standards again and again Give in to peer pressure Prone to abusive relationships Blame themselves for everything

8 Lose-Lose (The Downward Spiral)
“If I’m going down, you’re going down with me, sucker!” War is lose-lose, whoever kills the most people wins the war. This usually happens when two win-lose people get together. Revenge. When someone gets obsessed with someone in a negative way.

9 Lose-Lose “I’m going to make your life a living hell” Co-dependency
Anger

10 Win-Win (The All-You-Can-Eat Buffet)
Everyone can win!!! I won’t step on you, but I won’t be your doormat either. You care about yourself and you want to succeed. But You also care about others and want them to succeed too!

11 Win-Win There’s plenty of success to go around!
Its not either you or me, its both of us! Win-Win always creates more!

15 Puzzle Game

16 Win the Private Victory First
It all starts with you. This will increase self-esteem. This will help with motivation If you feel good about yourself, thinking win-win is easy.

17 The Competition Tumor Competition can be healthy when you compete against yourself. Competition is healthy when it challenges you to stretch and become your best. When you compete with others, you are setting yourself up for the negative win-lose.

18 The Comparing Tumor Everyone has their own path, their own way.
Comparing yourself to others is an unfair comparison. There is always someone bigger, stronger, smarter. It will drive you crazy! You don’t need to change to be worthy!

19 Overcoming Obstacles

20 Worksheet

21 Good Results with Win-Win
Good feelings! Promotions! Feeling good for yourself and others! Great Progress on Goals! Better relationships! Better Grades!

22 Win-Win Isn’t Easy This takes a paradigm shift!
Try thinking win-win 10% of the time, and then slowly increase it. It may take time for others to adjust to the new you. You may find you are surrounded by win-lose, lose-lose, and lose-win people.

23 Win-Win With time, you will get it.
