4. Living with the Physical Environment (35%)
Natural hazards including tectonic hazards, tropical storms and an extreme weather event in the UK.
Living world, including a small scale ecosystem, tropical rainforests and a hot environment
Physical landscapes in the UK., focussing on coasts and rivers.
There is a variety of questions such as short answer, graphical, map and extended answer

5. Challenges in the Human Environment 35%
Urban issues and challenges which will include a case study on Rio de Janeiro and Bristol
Changing economic world including the growth of tourism in Kenya, the economic structure in Nigeria and the economic future of the UK
Challenge of resource management focusing on water in depth
They will answer a variety of questions such as short answer, graphical, map and extended answer

6. Geographical Applications (30%)
Issue evaluation, based on a pre release resource booklet
Skills
Fieldwork i.e. Chiswell and Poole
It will be a hour and 15 min exam

7. What preparation can students do for the exam
Create revision mats for each unit studied which will focus on theories
Create revision cards for all case studies
Allow time to revise
Ensure focus on the exam question eg. Underline keywords and circle the command words
Practise exam questions
Self assess questions using mark schemes
Use the AQA revision booklet, GCSE pod, bitesize
Watch the news and read stories linked to topics covered

Provide a quiet space and time for your son/daughter to revise
Ask students questions around topics they have on their revision cards and mats
Read example exam answers to ensure they’re focused on the question

Discuss geographical issues in the news
Discuss the Geography when you visit places e.g. Bristol, Poole or the coast
