Task 1: In groups of 4 use your phones to research the information needed to complete page 4A.6a. If you are struggling get out of your chair and ask other students. Then answer the 4 mark question.
HINT: A list will not get you 4 marks. You need 4 detailed points that relate specifically to Stockport.

4. TASK 2: Statistical skills
Scattergraph: plot the life expectancy and IMD figures for 12 areas in and around Stockport, draw a line of best fit. Research the figures on your phone or use a database – ArcGIS to get the data.
Spearman’s Rank:
Use Spearman’s Rank Correlation to come to a conclusion for the following hypothesis (use green skills books to help you):
High deprivation will lead to shorter life expectancy (due to a poorer environment, health and lifestyle – use the data you used in your scattergraph.
Extra: Do the same for 12 areas in and around Liverpool City Centre and/or try looking at the correlation between: unemployment and life expectancy, IMD and unemployment for Liverpool and Stockport.

Find a social media entry about Merseyway in Stockport. Print it out. Highlight positive/negative comments. What does the view tell us about regeneration in Stockport? Stick this (inc your comments) in your exercise book.
