Unit 3 Overview: Predict
The world has dark pages in its history, and at times the challenge of righting such immeasurable wrongs seems impossible. Reading narratives about the Holocaust and other genocides will reveal the worst in human behavior, but it will also show how individuals can find light in the darkness. In this unit, you will present the voices of fictional or real people who fought the darkness by helping, hoping, or persevering. You will also apply the lessons of the past to start making a difference today by raising awareness and encouraging people to take action about a significant national or global issue.

Summary This article by Michael Bergen says that the most often used and told test strategies are ineffective and may hurt your grade. The, “When in doubt choose C” and the “Make anything up on the essay” have been proven wrong. Instead of these test strategies they encourage you to write a summery of any passage read. Also they encourage you to re-read questions that you aren’t sure on. Finally they recommend you to create practice tests to recreate the pressure of the environment and the time limit given. I think I speak for everyone that these results are surprising and will change the way I take test.
