Acts 10:38 – Jesus went about doing good John 21:25 – there are many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written

2 Some Things Jesus Did NOT Do

3 Reject the Will of His Father
Jesus did not: Reject the Will of His Father Jesus always obeyed His Father John 4:34, Philippians 2:8 Matthew 26:39 Far too many do reject God’s will Luke 10:16, Mark 7:9 John 5:39-40 Do we judge ourselves unworthy of eternal life?

4 Condone False Teaching
Jesus did not: Condone False Teaching Jesus never compromised the truth. He knew it better than anyone. He exposed error and those teaching it - Matthew 15:7-9 Matthew 23 Matthew 7:15-16 We must never tolerate error 2 John 9-11, Ephesians 5:11

5 Please everybody Jesus did not:
There were occasions when the people were “offended” Matthew 13:57 Matthew 15:12 John 6:61-66 Jesus dealt with many who not interested in following Him, regardless of what He taught - Matthew 11:16-19

6 Please everybody Jesus did not:
Far too many today are too easily offended Many seek avoid offending others or confrontations – at the expense of the truth.

7 Please everybody Jesus did not:
No matter what you say, someone is going to be offended Preach there is a God – you offend the atheist/naturalist Preach Jesus is Savior – you offend Muslims, Jews, etc. Preach any standard of morality – you offend those who are affected Preach one true church – you offend the ecumenicals Preach hell – you offend universalists or annihilationists

8 Please everybody Jesus did not:
While we should avoid being offensive or unkind for its own sake (cf. Matthew 10:16, Colossians 4:6), we cannot hold back on the truth Our goal IS to please the Father – John 8:29, 2 Corinthians 5:9, Colossians 1:10

9 Convict everyone Jesus did not: Many were simply unwilling to obey
The rich, young ruler – Matthew 19:21-22 John 1:11, 6:66 – His own did not receive Him, etc. Betrayed by Judas John 12:42

10 Convict everyone Jesus did not:
Even with miracles, His insights, knowing hearts, most rejected Him If Jesus was rejected, do not be surprised if we are too Matthew 10:24-25, John 15:20 God looks at what we are doing, not “the numbers”

11 Quit! Jesus did not: He completed His work – John 17:4
He instructed Peter to put away His sword noting He could call for 12 legions of angels (72,000) – Matthew 26:53 John 10:17-18

12 Jesus did not: Quit! We must endure to the end – Matthew 10:21-22, Luke 9:62 John 15:5-6 Hebrews 10:38-39 – if anyone draws back 1 Corinthians 9:27 – even Paul realized this

13 Ask the impossible of us
Jesus did not: Ask the impossible of us The invitation to all – Matthew 11:28-30 1 Peter 2:21 Acts 2:38 – God’s plan of salvation is available to anyone 1 Corinthians 10:13, Philippians 4:13, 1 John 4:4, Romans 8:31, 37-39

14 Remove personal accountability
Jesus did not: Remove personal accountability Many want Jesus to do everything Universalism - John 1:11-13, Matthew 7:21-23, 22:14, 7:13-14 Unconditional election – John 3:16, Titus 2:11, 1 Timothy 1:4 “Once saved, always saved” Galatians 5:4, 2 Peter 2:20-22, etc.

15 Remove personal accountability
Jesus did not: Remove personal accountability We are accountable. We must bear our own load – Galatians 6:5 We will answer for ourselves Romans 14:10-12 Revelation 20:12, 15
