The Institute of Commonwealth Studies, School of Advanced Study invites you to attend our book launch . The event is the first step to a much larger programme to tackle Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C).
The book, by Professor Ngianga-Bakwin Kandala and Dr Paul Komba, provides a comprehensive account of the issue of Female Genital Mutilation Around the World: Analysis of medical aspects, law and practice.
The creation of the book is a key part of the ongoing efforts to combat the scourge of FGM/C as well as violence against women and young girls.
At the event, the authors will present an overview of the book’s findings and key recommendations. This will be followed by questions and discussions on how best to start to tackle this global public health and human rights issue.
We will close the event with the dinner from 7.30 pm
