-Jesus never intended for us to be taken out of this world, instead he wanted us to holy (sanctified) in it!

3. I. Holiness is Not Optional

4. Remember (from last week)…
Hebrews 12:14-17
-Without holiness NO ONE will see God.
-As a church our fellowship needs to be a loving place but also a holy place where the unholy does not feel “right at home.”

5. II. Holiness Will Be a Battle

6. “My brain has no heart. My heart has no brain
“My brain has no heart. My heart has no brain. That why when I speak my mind I seem heartless and when I do what’s in my heart I appear thoughtless.”

7. Romans 7:14-24 1 Peter 5:8 -This battle is real.
-The stakes are extremely high.
-Diligence wins—casualness is crushed.
1 Peter 5:8
-you’ve got an enemy and he’s not playing for pennies.
-we are in foreign territory.

-God is able to do incredible things, up to and including leading us to holiness in an unholy world through his power and FOR HIS GLORY, in the the church.
