1 Intercalibration Timetable
IC Milestones WFD Annex V Official timetable Real world Delay WFD publication 22 Dec 2000 Draft Register 3 years after WFD publication 22 Dec 2003 December 2003 On time Final Register 4 years after WFD publication 22 Dec 2004 19 Sep 2005 9 months Completion IC exercise 18 months after register publication 22 June 2006 ? Publication of IC exercise results and established MS classification values 6 months after completion of the IC exercise 22 Dec 2006

2 Should we change the IC timetable?
YES, because…. It is possible because of the 9-months delay in establishment of IC register More time for GIG work means better results Some GIGs will be able to address more quality elements if they get more time There is not sufficient time to revise the intercalibration register, as required NO, because…. Class boundaries are needed for the first RBMP A 9-months delay is not enough to really solve the open issues IC register does not play an important role in GIG work on boundary setting Revision of the IC register can take place after publication of the IC results

3 Recommendation of ECOSTAT WGL and IC steering group …
GIGs should stick to the original timetable: Boundary setting procedure and EQR setting of MS assessment methods completed June 2006 Aim for publication of the results in December 2006 Revision of the intercalibration register after the IC report will be published (2007?)
