5 What do I need for an Honors Diploma?
24 credits 3.4 Weighted GPA 4 years math (Alg.2) 3 years science 2 from Bio/Chem/Physics 2 years foreign language 8 Honors Credits (full year) No failures during Junior and Senior years.

6 Endorsements on a Diploma
Seal o Biliteracy Minimum of 2.0 GPA in English for four years 3 or higher on AP 1-4 on the ACTFL or AAPL exam CTE Career and Technical Education Endorsement 3 years of a technical ed. Class Pass the Career and College Readiness test. Pass the assessment for the specific CTE test

8 What Counts for Humanities Credit?
All Art/Music/Drama (must be full year of the same discipline and in correct order) All Industrial Arts courses or Foods Foreign Lang. (5-6-third year and above) AP Human Geography/World History/World Geography (if both are taken) 6th and 7th semesters of ROTC

9 HSROTC Meets PE & Health requirement with completion of 5 semesters

10 PE Waiver Need two credits of PE/HSROTC or approved equivalency for graduation PE Options & Supervised Curriculum PE (SCPE) through Extended Studies. One full credit is required and… Students engaging in school sports may waive as much as1 PE credit. One sport per .5 waived. Waivers DO NOT give credit (just allow you to take something other than PE)

11 World Languages 2-4 years of same language required for some colleges. We offer: French Spanish Yes, sign language is a foreign language. Dual Credit is available through TMCC, WNC, SNC and UNR. Junior and Senior years Credit is also available through State approved of classes

12 What do I do if I need extra credit?

ALL CLASSES MUST BE COMPETE BEFORE THE END OF THE DISTRICT’S SEMESTER; DECEMBER OR THE LAST WEEK OF MAY.

15 Dual Credit Opportunities
Junior and Seniors suggested but open to lower classmen. Must get permission by the Counselor GPA for seniors 2.5 GPA for Juniors 3.0 Must request transcript Classes that are not a part of I.H.S. .05 bump or .025 for classes equivalent WORTH 1.0 CREDITS PER 3.O COLLEGE CREDIT FERPA law prevents the school from monitoring

16 Correspondence Not recommended for freshmen;
No more than one is suggested. Not RECOMMENDED for Math, Science, and Foreign Languages. Students must prove they are taking it, by receipt. Must be done by the semester end. Three Weeks past the semester ending, turns to an F if no transcript is given to the registrar. The counselor cannot monitor the progress of any student unless the school, Incline, is added. It is the parents responsibility to monitor progress, to order finals, and the transcript. All students taking classes outside of school must sign an OFF CAMPUS agreement and the rules and regulations agreement (signed by both parent and student).

Reading, Writing Freshmen English Testing will be at the end of Sophomore English (Science Objective included.) Math Geometry Algebra All Juniors will be taking The ACT Writing END OF COURSE EXAMS

18 How do I prepare for College?
Earn an Honors or Advanced Diploma Maintain the highest GPA you can Strive for a (ABOVE) Take lots of math & science Take the PSAT as Junior (National Merit Scholars Program) Take the ACT/SAT (Spring /Jr year) Earn community service hours Begin looking at individual college requirements and options early

19 What can I do to maintain my GPA?

20 How do I know what my GPA is?
If you have earned credit, you can find both your un-weighted and weighted cumulative GPA on your transcript. Based on a 4.0 scale A= 4 B= 3 C= 2 D = 1 (minuses do not count) No credit is awarded for F grades; S or U grades do not effect your GPA.

21 Can I earn college credit while still in high school?

24 What if I want to Participate in athletics in College?
File Forms with NCAA Clearinghouse NCAA.org Make sure you have 14 core curriculum classes Contact your coach, Ms. Haddad, Mr. Yoxsimer, or Mr. Reymer

25 ASSIGNMENT!! Decide which Diploma you want to earn.
Create a 4 year high school plan. Discuss plan with your parents. Be prepared to meet with your counselor to review and finalize your plan if they request.
