There’s no single “correct” way to summarize. Do whatever works for you.

Checklist: Is the summary accurate? Does it make sense? Does each paragraph make sense? Does each sentence make sense? Is each sentence clear? Is each sentence grammatically correct? Does each punctuation mark follow conventional usage? Is each word spelled correctly? Is the paper written in 12-point Times New Roman? Does it have 1-inch margins all around? Is it roughly one full page in length? Does it follow MLA format for the header and title?

Use remaining class time to revise your summary. Discuss confusing parts with a classmate. As soon as you finish, submit it to turnit.com and check the originality report. If the report is red or yellow, get help. For next time, bring your summary (in hard copy) and your textbook to class.
