Define work and give its unit. Solve problems about work. Demonstrate work being done. Give examples of work being done.

2 Work Work is done on an object when a force moves it in the direction of that force. Formula: π‘Šπ‘œπ‘Ÿπ‘˜=πΉπ‘œπ‘Ÿπ‘π‘’Γ—π‘‘π‘–π‘ π‘π‘™π‘Žπ‘π‘’π‘šπ‘’π‘›π‘‘ Formula: π‘Š=𝐹×𝑠 Work is measured in joules (J).

6 Work e.g. Find the work done when Sorcha pushes a shopping trolley with a force of 400 N a distance of 25 m. e.g. Rebecca wants to beat the current Olympic record for the snatch weightlift. She needs to lift at least 152 kg above her head in one fluid motion. How much work does she need to put in? e.g. How much work is required to accelerate a 1000 kg car from rest to 30 ms-1 in 10 seconds?
