1 Character: Frankenstein

2 Who is he? He is the main character of the book. He is the older son of Alphonse and Caroline Beaufort. He has two little brothers, William and Ernest. He is a scientist who, after studying chemical processes and the decay of living beings, gains an insight into the creation of life and gives life to his own creature, often referred to as Frankenstein's monster, or often colloquially referred to as simply "Frankenstein".

3 What does he bring to the text?
Thanks to him, the story takes life; Without him the monster would have never been created. Apart from the monster, he also brings a love story with Elizabeth, his stepsister. We can observe how they fall in love. When he discovers that the monster has murdered Elizabeth during their honeymoon, he starts hunting the monster to take revenge. We can also read how Victor goes to the university and how his relatives die by the monster’s hand.

4 Is he a likeable character?
From our point of view Victor is a likeable character since at the end of the book we can feel how sorry he is about the creation of the monster, and you realise how much he has lost, all because he wanted to investigate how he could save lives due to his mother's death. On the other hand, Victor doesn´t treat his monster very well. The monster only wanted a friend or somebody to love and Victor doesn´t help him. Maybe if he had done something to help his creation, Elizabeth and part of his family would have survived. Victor is definitely as guilty as his Monster for the death of his relatives.
