1 Blessed is the man, who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; 2 but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. 3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. The Way of The Blessed Man

6 Psalm 1: The Contrast The happy, blessed man is compared to a tree planted by the water. Prosperous The wicked are compared to the chaff. Blown Away by the Wind

11 Bringing Forth Fruit in Its Season
3 He is like a ‘tree’ planted by water Bringing Forth Fruit in Its Season We will know them by their fruit. Matthew 7:17-18 17 So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit.  18 A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit.

Planting the tree shows intention You plant what you intend to harvest. Planting the tree shows ownership You take responsibility for what you have planted. Planting the tree means you must care for the tree You provide for the plant’s well being.

14 What of the Tree That Does Not Bear Fruit?
4 The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away Matthew 3:10 and Luke 3:9 - Even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees. Every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. John 15:2 - Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. Matthew 15:13 - He answered, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be rooted up.”
