2 What is Tapestry? Tapestry is an online learning journal used by teachers to capture children's experiences as well as monitor development and learning. Text, images and videos can be uploaded via PC, tablet or the mobile app. This unique journal is shared online with parents and carers, who are able to see what their child has been learning at school. Parents and carers can also add special moments with their child at home!

3 User Guide for Parents/Carers
On your seat you will find a copy of the User Guide we have put together for you to take home. This guide shows you how to use the Tapestry website. We are going to run through the user guide briefly and then Mrs Franks and Mrs Harradine will talk to us about how they have found Tapestry as parents and give us a live demonstration of how to use the app.

4 We should now have an address for every parent from your Tapestry permission slip given out at parents evening. If you would like to double check we have the correct for you please see your child’s class teacher at the end of this meeting. You will receive an notification from Tapestry. Click on the link and you will be asked to set a password. You can then access Tapestry from the URL on your handout or download the app. The Login screen will look like this.

5 Once you have logged on, you will be taken to the Home Page
Once you have logged on, you will be taken to the Home Page. Here you will be able to see your child’s observations in chronological order.

6 At the top of the screen next to your name, you will find your notification bell. If any observations/comments have been added since the last time you logged into Tapestry, they will show up there. You can see past notifications by clicking on 'View All Notifications'.

7 To add an observation you need to click on Observations (which can be found in the top left hand corner of the home screen). Click on Add Observation.

8 You will then be taken to this screen
You will then be taken to this screen. Here you will need to pick your child from the drop down list. (You will only be able to see your own children so for example if you have a child in Reception and a child in Year 1 you can select which child the observation is about).

9 You need to write a title for the observation for example ‘Counting to 20!’ You can then write the observation in the notes box and add photographs or a video by clicking Add Files. Don’t forget to press SAVE once you have completed an observation!

10 Over to Mrs Franks and Mrs Harradine!

11 Thank you for coming!  Your next steps…
Double check we have the correct address for you before you leave today. When you receive an notification from Tapestry, click on the link and set up a password. When we add observations in school you will be sent an notification so you can go on and check what your child has been learning. It would be great for us to see what your child is learning at home too so please add observations! If you have any questions please speak to your child’s teacher!
