2. Your Carriere appliance is going to assist with correcting your bite
Your Carriere appliance is going to assist with correcting your bite. You may experience some tooth tenderness during your treatment. If you do, we recommend eating softer foods and take Panadol or nurofen if needed.

3. As your Carriere appliance is bonded to your tooth surface, it can be damaged by eating certain foods.
We recommend that you eat softer foods throughout your treatment and stay away from anything hard, sticky, crunchy or chewy.

4. Brushing with your Carriere appliance
You will need to keep your teeth clean, as well as the Carriere appliance. It is important to brush your teeth twice a day for 2 minutes and floss daily. We recommend using interdental brushes to clean under the appliance.

5. Wax Occasionally you may experience some rubbing on your cheek or gums
Wax Occasionally you may experience some rubbing on your cheek or gums. Please use the wax provided to assist with this. Your mouth will adjust to having the appliance in there and this will lessen over time.

6. Some problems that you may have include:
Carriere coming off or breaking
Button coming off
Retainer not fitting correctly or breaking
If you experience any problems with your appliance, please call us immediately so we can repair them as soon as possible.

7. You will have some noticeable changes with the Carriere appliance
You will have some noticeable changes with the Carriere appliance. You may notice gaps forming between your teeth or teeth moving into different positions. Please be aware that this is normal and we do expect this change. If you are concerned at any time, please call us to schedule an appointment or ask us at your next appointment.
