District Grading Guidelines
American History Welcome to 5th grade American History! We are going to have an exciting year exploring the United States! We will learn about the geography and history of our great country from exploration up to Modern America. 5th graders are also responsible for memorizing the 50 states and capitals. They must identify them on a blank map. We split the states into four sets and focus on one each nine weeks, starting with the east coast and moving west. Students will need to study/practice at home. They have resources in their INB and our Google Classroom to help. I would also recommend the “Stack the States” app if they enjoy playing on devices. Please subscribe to our webpage at for updates, reminders, and our weekly schedule.
