2 Background Aim: to support Apprentices with mental health conditions to retain their employment Emphasis on wellbeing and productivity at work No financial contribution required from employers Referrals to date (since May 2016) : 26 Programme starts: 9 No retention rates as yet will be able to capture from November onwards Mainstream MHSS provision helped over 6150 individuals with a range of mental health conditions, with 92% retention rate Delivered by Remploy’s Vocational Rehabilitation Consultants (VRCs) - experienced in supporting people with mental health conditions in a vocational setting 2

3 Eligibility Individuals must:
be in paid employment (including self employment) AND Mental Health Condition can be self diagnosed Access to Work determine eligibility The mental health condition may not be the primary health condition 3

4 Referral Process Individuals can self refer direct to Remploy: Or call Access to Work – In all cases ATW will confirm customer eligibility for the service.

5 What does the support look like?
Up to 6 months work based support Dedicated VRC throughout support period At least three face to face meetings plus telephone and contact as required Choice regarding employer involvement Assessment of individual’s role and specific workplace difficulties – development of a Support Plan Workplace wellbeing and self esteem assessments Signposting Exit Report 92% retention rate for individuals who have completed the 6 month programme to date ( Mainstream)

6 Possible interventions.......
The support is completely tailored to the individual’s needs and could include interventions such as: practical workplace coping strategies employer education / guidance around mental health (with individual’s consent) planning and implementing return to work advice on redeployment into a more suitable role negotiating and agreeing adjustments / accommodations sign posting to internal support / external organisations Tool such as Moodjuice, moodgym, WRAP attendance at internal meetings, e.g. Occupational Health, HR, line manager

7 Statistics to Date 35 % conversation compared to 81% on MHSS
62% Female vs 38 % males Top Mental Health conditions: Anxiety: 54% Depression: 35% Stress: 8% Bi Polar: 3% 2nd MH condition 85% compared to % on MHSS 19% logged another Health Condition / Disability compared to 50-60% on MHSS
