INFORMED CONSENT- participants have a right to know (before or after)
COERCION- allowed to some extent by confederates but cannot interfere with outcomes
RISK- as long as there is no serious harm and the good outweighs the bad
DEBRIEFING- after experiment, inform participants of findings and offer emotional support/therapy
ANONYMITY / CONFIDENTIALITY- assign people numbers and refer to them as numbers
