“Why the CoE?”
The work of the Council of Europe in the field of HE and research focuses on issues related to - the recognition of qualifications
- public responsibility for HE and research
HE governance
and other fields relevant for the establishment of the EHEA by 2010.
For example, this year the London Communique … mandated the CoE to enhance international and regional cooperation and exchange in the process of establishing QFs.
The Council of Europe gives special attention to support HE reforms in the so-called priority regions, states and regions that have joined the CoE and/or the BP only recently – such as South East Europe, South Caucasus and CIS countries.
