2. Summary of SG4 meeting in Washington DC
The conclusions of the meeting : TC100 interests
1) Voltage : candidate 48V as SELV (Safety Extra Low Voltage)
2) IEC standards shall be necessary :
- Figures and dimensions of Outlet and Plug
- Compatibility between Outlet and Plug
- Meet the present performance and cost
3) Advantages :
- Reduction of safety requirements by using SELV
- Wiring System for Data Transfer added
Another issues :
1) Voltage : V for Data Centre use, White goods use
2) Protection of persons, Inrush current, EMC, Arc flush, etc,.

3. Observations for SG4
- DC distribution seems one of the most efficient means to reduce cost and user benefits for TC100 equipment
- IEC is the one and only organization for standardisation of DC distribution as same as smart grid of E3
- SG4 activity is very important to TC100 as same as SG3
- Home appliances must be one of the first users
- There is not enough involvement by Consumer Equipment to SG4
- TC100 is able to contribute SG4 in home use and should collaborate with TC59
- TC100 should request SG4 to consider more promotion of LVDC such as workshop like SG3 had it in July as soon as possible
