In working with ASTHO, NEMA realized the need for additional public health and medical based mission ready packages; The potential list of MRPs was established after discussing needs with the advisory workgroup and reviewing past public health and medical based MRPs requested through EMAC
Advisory workgroup was established in January. Members included Directors of Public Health Preparedness, Local and State emergency Management representatives, federal government partners and NEMA representatives

Initial areas selected for priority MRP development:

5. Emergency Care and Response
Based on initial research of prior public health and medical requests and advisory workgroup recommendations, MRP development was suggested for the following priority areas:

Using the list I just showed you, the advisory group held an in-person meeting May 21-22nd and selected the 10 MRPs above as the finalized list for MRP development.
Each MRP was developed into a full template with suggestions for mission capabilities, personnel, costs, identified ESFs, resource description and more.

The project team is finalizing its approach to sharing the finalized MRPs with the entire public health preparedness community (specifically ASTHO’s directors of public health preparedness)
We are working to determine what will be best way to share the templates: dedicated webinars, fact sheets, or an additional open comment period for final review. A companion document has also been drafted to assist in educating states on each of the MRPs
In addition, the project team would like to evaluate state resources and their potential ability and availability of assets available for EMAC deployment. This state evaluation will assist in looking at areas for future MRP development based on existing state resources and needs.
