3 Take Apart Your Servo Examine how the gears mesh together.
Observe what happens when you manually turn the gears You may need to hold your finger over the gears to keep them from slipping off. Which gears turn the fastest? Can you find any trends? Disassemble the gear train. Count the number of teeth on each gear, and write down your tooth count for each gear. Keep track of the gears using the numbering scheme provided on the next slide. We will use this information to relate the torque and RPM (revolutions per minute) of the output shaft to the torque and RPM of the input shaft from the DC motor.
