A Note from the Teacher
Welcome back to school! We had such a great first week in 2B, learning all about the rules, how to be a good friend, how to work in a group, and much more!
Thank you all for coming to curriculum night! It was so nice to see you all again. Have a great weekend!
Homework Reminder
The homework packet will go home the first day of each week and should be completed and returned to school the last day of the week. Each night, students will be expected to read for at least 20 minutes, and record it in their reading log. If I am doing my job well, the homework should be easy! I don’t want any tears over homework, so if it seems too difficult then please write me a little note or me. Spelling words will also be sent home on Monday. Just a note that I will be gone this Thursday and Friday for my fiancé’s sister’s wedding in New York. I have Jeanne Morrison as the sub so the kids will be in good hands! Thanks!
CURRICULUM
Literacy: We will be writing about our “selfies,” while reviewing the formal writing process (pre-write, draft, edit, final draft).
Spelling: Our list this week consists of sight words for review.
Religion: We are launching into unit 1 about God’s gift of Jesus.
Math: We are starting Topic 1, which reviews addition strategies.
Science: We will review what science is and the scientific process.
Social studies: We will start our unit on maps and landforms.
