Use several key words Don’t search for a topic using only one key word or key phrase Topic: World War One Stats Poor Search: “WWI information for Canada” Good Search: “Canadian casualties during World War One”

Re-Search Don’t just search once for an essay
Search several sites; check them all out Make decisions whether they are valid or not

Bookmarking Bookmark any important site that you come across while researching Open several tabs and browse several pieces of information in the same “research time”

Be Suspicious If the website is too “happy” or too “sad”, triple check its validity If it is too happy or too sad, there is often reason to believe that the other is bias and the information is distorted
