Forming tables on books. Page 61 q 3,q 7 Number changers (1 lesson) Mutating numbers ( Refer to notes) Backtracking ( maths 300 #19) Page 64 Question 1 What’s my Rule?/ linear equations ( 2 Lessons) Algebra Walk, computers excel activity (Notes), Questions 1,2,3 page 69, questions 1,2 page 73 Assessment (2 lessons) Alternative assessment & test

5 Creating Patterns Working in groups year 7’s created different patterns Over two lessons they explored the patterns followed by recording it in their books. Some students were given the opportunity to graph the results to observe the linear relationship

6 Including Text books and board notes!!

7 Algebra Walk Great activity before introducing graphing linear equations and forming tables. Some students understood the concept of gradient and some even non linear equations Year 7’s love being outside on “Friday Fun Day”

10 CONCEPT MAPPING

11 Test When comparing the two year seven classes there was not a significant difference in the results. Both of the classes have similar results, this is likely to be due to the revision test which is similar to the actual test. But the class which engaged more in “hand on activities” performed better in concept mapping and the project assessment.
