ached Define: hurt Example: My head ached and hurt when I had a bad cold. Ask: When has your head ached?

concentrate Define: pay close attention
Example: Tom can concentrate in the quiet library. Ask: Can you name places where you can concentrate?

educated Define: having knowledge
Example: Jan went to school to be educated. Ask: Why does someone become educated?

effort Define: energy used to do something.
Example: Learning to ski takes lots of hard work and effort. Ask: Can you name something else that takes effort?

satisfied Define: pleased
Example: I am happy and satisfied with the good job I did. Ask: What word means almost the same as satisfied?

improved Define: better
Example: Sam’s soccer skills improved with practice. Ask: Can you tell how you improved at doing something?

discovery Define: finding something for the first time.
Example: Matt and June made a fun discovery at the beach. Ask: What fun discovery have you made?

Example: My grandmother inspired me to learn to knit. Ask: Who has inspired you to try something new?
