Google Shuts Down Chinese Search, Redirects To Hong Kong
Google has shut down it’s Chinese search site at Google.cn and is now redirecting visitors to Google.com.hk. This is in response to the widely reported cyber attack on Google in December, Google confirms.
Users are being redirected for Google web, news and image search to the Hong Kong site, which sits outside of the Chinese firewall.

6. Tiananmen Square 1989
May 1989, nearly a million Chinese, mostly young students, gather in Beijing to protest for greater democracy.
June 4, 1989 Chinese troops storm through Tiananmen Square, firing into the crowds of protesters. Reporters and Western diplomats on the scene estimated that at least 300 protesters had been killed and as many as 10,000 were arrested.
