2 Filipinos Rebel against US Rule
Following victory in Spanish American War the US does not leave the Filipinos to themselves The rebels used guerrilla warfare, using small units to sneak attacks the occupying US forces Emilio Aguinaldo, the Filipino leader, was captured in 1901 and the fighting slowed William Taft, future President of the US became Gov of Philippines and US built roads, bridges and schools In 1916 Jones Act, the US promised to ultimately give independence to the Philippines and did so in 1946 following WW2
