Fire Island is a 32-mile long barrier Island off the south shore of Suffolk County, and is contained within a national park.  Part of the island’s charm is that there are no cars; so visitors walk, ride a bicycle, or take a water taxi. Deer roam freely here, as well as migrating ducks and geese.
Fire Island consists of 17 communities, each with its own unique personality and attractions. These include the nightlife hotspots of Ocean Beach and Ocean Bay Park, the tranquil pace of Kismet or Saltaire, and the LGBTQ-friendly Cherry Grove and the Pines.
