Second Grade is loving the amazing weather and to be able to play outside 
ELA
We have been working on our poetry unit last week. We will continue with poetry and also start a Johanna Cole author study. The students are excited because she is the author of the Magic School Bus books. We will find out more about her and her life and continue reading and writing poetry.

Math
In math, we have started working on line plots as well as reviewing this year’s math skills. Please continue to work on addition and subtraction facts at home!
Reading Calendar Reminder: Thank you for remembering to read each night for 20 minutes. Please don’t forget to initial each night.

2. Dear Parents and Guardians, Spirit Week- May 8th -12th
Monday- Wear sports team or sports attire!
Tuesday- Pajama Day!
Wednesday- Wear Super Hero Shirts.
Thursday- Wear sunglasses or bright clothes.
Friday- Wear Hawaiian clothes or beach wear.
 Track & Field Day is on May 19th. Here are some addition reminders about that day:
Wear tennis shoes & comfortable clothes. You may get wet!
Wear sunscreen. Apply at home. (Your child is in charge of this if they bring some to school.)
Bring a water bottle. (Write your name on it.)
Optional: dry socks, shirt, or pants (There will be several water games!)
