4 Tickets are now on sale for the Adrian Schools Education Foundation’s 8th annual Outstanding Alumni and teacher mentor awards. The awards presentation will kick off the AHS Homecoming Weekend with a reception at 6:30 pm, Oct. 15 in the Julianne and George Argyros Performing Arts Center lobby and award ceremony at 7:30 pm in the theater at AHS. Tickets for the program are $10 and may be purchased in the Foundation and Alumni Office at AHS. Call for more information.

5 Maple City Driving School will conduct a segment 1 class at Adrian High School starting today. The class will start right after school and be held in room a-100. You can pick up applications and information about this class in the high school main office.

6 Halloween is coming! Please donate a bag or several bags of Halloween candy to Key Club at lunch so they can help the elderly residents at Lynwood Manor pass out candy to area children soon. Help make Halloween fun for them!

7 Are you a junior or senior interested in a career in public service
Are you a junior or senior interested in a career in public service?  The United States Senate Youth Program is looking for outstanding students to attend Washington DC Week. Students will spend a week listening to major policy addresses by Senators, cabinet members, the Department of Defense and other federal agencies, as well as participate in a meeting with a Justice of the US Supreme Court. Two students will be selected to represent each state.  Applications are due by November 6.  For more information contact the Counseling Office.  

8 Picture Retake day is Wed Oct 14th
Picture Retake day is Wed Oct 14th. If you have not already done so, please make sure you have your photo taken even if you are not going to purchase pictures, everyone needs a photo for the yearbook and school ID's. 

9 Secular Student Alliance is a free-thinking club that will be meeting today from 3-4 in Ms. Eddy’s room, A125.

10 The monthly NHS meeting is this Wednesday, October 14th, in the Media Center. The meeting will start promptly at 7:15. Please remember that your contract and your dues are due at this time, unless you have already taken care of it.

11 Open gym will be held for any girls interested in playing basketball this year on Tuesdays and Thursdays every week from 5:30-6:30 in the B gym.

12 Sophomore float building will be held today through Thursday from 6-9 PM at the Race Street Bus Garage, located at the end of Springbrook Ave (address is 217 Race St). Jobs will be assigned, come to work!

13 The Cross country team raced at Portage this weekend against the best teams in the state.  Out the 46 teams the girls were 19th lead by Emma Dempsey coming in 51st with a time of 19:48.  Followed by Riley Zick in 54th place running a 19:53, Caroline Lewis was 97th, Alicia Medrano was 105th, and was Vanessa Hernandez 209th. The Boys ran agianst 49 teams coming in 17th overall.  Lead by Jack Schafer coming in 9th place with a time of 15:56, followed by Gavin Stintzi 83rd, Rence Force 121st, Dontae Edwards 167th and Michael Petterson 252nd. Congrats to all the runners this weekend getting your Personal Best Keep up the good work.

14 Sophomore leadership: there will be a short, important meeting right after school today in room A106.
