5. Biodiversity HOTSPOTS
A biodiversity hotspot is a place that has a very high level and variety of species.

6. High diversity: Madagascar
-off the coast of Africa, a hotspot for diversity!

7. Low Diversity: The Tundra
Low levels of precipitation combined with very low temperatures leads to conditions that don’t promote high diversity!

9. Biodiversity in Ontario
The province of Ontario is very vast and the climate changes greatly across it.
The Southern part of Ontario has the warmest temperatures and the greatest level of species diversity.
Southern Ontario also has the greatest human population. This is a direct threat to the biodiversity found in this region.

10. Loss of Ecosystems
