1. What about the FUTURE?
The future holds uncertainty. We can try to anticipate what might come, and prepare for things that are inevitable. Ultimately, we must trust God with our future if we are to have peace in the present.

The Scriptures teach this plainly (Proverbs 27:1; James 4:13-14)
Our experience teaches us the same thing (Ecclesiastes 9:11-12)

3. We Should Prepare for the Future
For Judgment (Luke 12:47)
To defend our faith (1 Peter 3:15)
To do the good works God expects of us. (Titus 3:1)
Providing for ourselves.
Fulfilling our roles in the home.
Studying and applying the Bible.

4. We Should Not Worry About the Future
Do not live the future before it gets here (Matthew 6:34).
Trust God to handle the many uncertainties in the future (Philippians 4:6).
God’s eternal purpose for us gives hope even in times of distress (Ruth 1-4).

5. Our Hope for the Future Should Rest on God’s Promises
God has promised that good will come to those who live righteous lives (Psalm 37:37; 1 Timothy 4:8).
He has given us “great and precious” promises concerning the life to come (2 Peter 3:13; Hebrews 10:23; Titus 1:2).

6. “You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”

7. O Master Let Me Walk with Thee
in lowly paths of service free;
tell me thy secret; help me bear
the strain of toil, the fret of care
