Where did it come from?

3. MIXED MULTITUDE IN ISRAEL
Glad to leave Egypt with Israel (Exo 12:38).
Devastation & Tyranny in Egypt.
 Who?
Offspring of mixed marriages (Lev 24:10-13).
Wealth seekers (Exo 3:22; 11:2).
Acquaintances of the Israelites (Num 10:29).
 What happened?
Traded freedom for the flesh: went back to Egypt.

4. MIXED MULTITUDE IN THE CHURCH
People who have not become Christians.
Christians who have fallen into sin.
Christians who are uncommitted to the church & its leadership.

5. MIXED MULTITUDE IN THE CHURCH
What is the church’s duty?
Turn them to the Lord (1 Cor 14:22-25).
Exhort them to change (2 Thess 3:13-15).
Teach them to serve (Rom 12:4-8).
Be patient while they put off the old man of sin & put on the new man in Christ (Col 3:8-10).

6. MIXED MULTITUDE IN THE CHURCH
A spiritual danger for the church.
Impeding the spiritual aim of the congregation (Phil 3:17; 4:9; 1 Thess 1:6; 2:10-14).
Interrupting the spiritual development of each member (1 Cor 15:33; 5:6, 11).
At cross-purposes with the Lord (Matt 12:25, 30).
Jesus & Paul faced it (Matt 16:21-23; Acts 21:10-13).

7. GUARDING AGAINST THE DANGERS
Live in zealous pursuit of heavenly things (Col 3:1-3; 2 Tim 2:22).
Develop a greater love for the Lord’s true family (Matt 12:46-50).

8. A MIXED MULTITUDE
Set your affections on things above and chart a path for them to follow.
