Light (walk, bowl, sail) vs moderate (golf, dance, brisk walk) vs vigorous exercise (swim, racket sports, jog, hike, stairclimbing). 10 year study. Only vigorous exercise associated with a lowered risk of death from heart disease or any other cause. The more intense the exercise, the lower the chances of dying. NEJM 1996: Tai Chi decreases risk of falling by 47.5%. Risk of falling over age 65 is 30% in any year. Over age 80 is 40%.
