2 Two events are independent if the outcome of the first does not affect the outcome of the next
Example: A student guesses the answers to two True-False questions. Guessing question 1 correctly and guessing question 2 correctly are independent events.

4 Two events are dependent if the outcome of the first does affect the outcome of the next
Example: From one boy and three girls, a teacher randomly selects one student to be a speaker and a different student to be the recorder. Randomly selecting a girl first and randomly selecting a girl second are dependent events.
