Not quite Asian and certainly not really Middle Eastern, yet not fully European either, Georgia is an exotic mixture of influences not seen anywhere else.

Recorded history in Georgia goes back over an incredible 3000 years, and our culture is far older. Particularly in ancient times we had far more contact with Mediterranean culture. To be sure, we Georgian's are neither Russian nor Slavic not Armenian and our language is much older.

The Democratic Republic of Georgia - First Republic was established on 26 May this is the first flag of the democratic Georgia. We celebrated our 100th year of independence on 26 of may.

There is an old legend that God saved Georgia for last. He had parcelled out all of the lands of the world to the different people, the Georgians were, of course, late to the party, and there was nothing left for them. But God so enjoyed their toasting and revelry that he gave them the section he had reserved for himself, a fertile valley of vineyards and orchards.

Today Georgia is divided into nine regions. Qartli, khaxeti, Imereti, Guria, Samegrelo, Adjara, Mesxeti, Racha and Svaneti.

Given its lively and long history, the region boasts many historical monuments and structures. This history is also on display in the Dadiani Palace Museum in Zugdidi, with its impressive collections of art and historical artifacts. The most special and interesting is the mask of Napleon Bonapart which is only three in the world, the tunic of virgin Mary and relics of saint George.

The production of Khinkali originates in the mountainous regions of eastern Georgia. The honor of this invention is attributed to the Pshavian people, Mtiulebi and Khevsuri. In ancient times the khinkali was made with a deferent method. In the mountainous regions, Khinkali is still prepared the old way.

Adjaruli khachapuri- is fameous kind of khachapuri. in Georgia allmost every region has it`s own veriation of khachapuri. The adjaruli khachapuri is shaped like a boat the inspritation of the shape comes from the regions old history of sailing.

Georgia is home of wine and greaps. There are 4000 breeds of greaps in the world and 500 of those breeds were descovered in Georgia yet this not the full list some of the greap breeds have been lost or destroyed by invaders.

Like other Georgian provinces, Samegrelo produces several types of wine, the most famous of which is ojaleshi—a red, naturally semi-sweet wine made from the grape variety of the same name. Ojaleshi is an aboriginal red grape variety. It belongs to the group of grape varieties of Samegrelo. High quality wine is made from it. Ojaleshi wine is characterized by intense color, harmonious and rich variety taste and smell. In the case of late grapes pick up high quality and semi-sweet wine is made.
